woah.

You wanna have something amazing?? Cuz I just discovered something amazing.

Take two packets of Swiss Miss hot chocolate with marshmallows and pour them in a large mug. Brew a strong cup of coffee over the hot chocolate mix. Stir. Pour in about a tablespoon of hazelnut creamer (CoffeMate to be exact!) and stir again. Add five large marshmallows. And enjoy.

Holy delicious.

Live and Learn

Hmmm, life has been so busy lately! Jordan and I have been working, of course, but our jobs have both been getting a little more hectic. Not in a bad way, just a "constant state of busy-ness!" Jordan has been working on more and more projects and already has his 90-day review this week (fingers crossed!!!) and my job has been getting so much business, we've hired three new full-time employees and still can't seem to keep up!
We're also staying busy keeping up with our siblings! Jordan's sister and my brother both run for the same cross country team, and we've been to a couple meets. So much fun! :) My other brother came home from college this past week, and my family and we spent three hours at the local Olive Garden catching up with him!
Last week was our highschool's homecoming. We went to the football game (our team actually scored!!) and had fun seeing relatives, classmates and good friends. Isn't it crazy how much people change in five years, three years, or even a few months?
On Saturday, one of my classmates got married. We skipped the Husker game (well, I guess we listened to it on the radio), argued for forty minutes about what to wear, and travelled to Minden. I love going to weddings, because it always reminds me of my own wedding day. I can't believe we got married nine months tomorrow! Anyway, after the ceremony, we went to the reception and ate, chatted with friends and danced! Well, I danced... Jordan sat. Hey, I got him to dance one slow song with me (one more than I usually get!) At least he's ok with me dancing with my friends and doesn't make me sit, too! :)
Today, we went to church where the sermon was unusually long. It was a great sermon, but my allergies made me so miserable I had to leave the room twice - embarrassing! And tonight we have Biblestudy. Tonight is our first night, and I'm really looking forward to it. However, I need to make a side dish. And I don't have any ideas. Maybe I should stop typing and start flipping through my cookbooks!

Dry Tears

How can a heart break so many times? How many tragedies await us in life? It seems the more I grow up, the more devestating life appears.

Barb.
Steve.
Bernice.
Hurricanes.
Blue Hill.
Landin.
Don.
Rita's husband.
Fires.
Kristen's dad.
Anthony.
Zane.
Albert.

God, how much?

God, how long?

This life is short. It is merely a few breaths. Eternity awaits.

A heart can break so many times. God holds it together.
Unlimited tragedies will come in this life. He will wipe every tear from our eyes.

The hope I have found in these horrible events has grounded my faith in God more than a million blessings. Jesus uses death and pain and destruction for His glory. For good. To encourage us. To show Himself to us.

Lord, give us peace. Comfort the mourning. Show us Your love.

Gracious

I work at an amazing place. Everyday, when I come to work, I am surprised by the kindness and sincerity shown by my coworkers. Whether it's just saying hi or buying a platter of Barista's pastries and two things of coffee (yum!!), these people are impacting my life. They are helping me understand how to give unconditional love and respect to the elderly, how to laugh and be curious about each other's stories, and how to realize that money isn't everything in life - it's ok to spend on other people!

you know.

Another funeral. Another goodbye. It's so hard to come to terms with never being able to see a loved one again in this life. It's so hard to see the effects of death on family, people I love. Tears fell. Lips quivered. 21 shots. Taps. We mourn and grieve - each in his own way. Then we comfort and hold one another. Whether it's holding someone's hand, slipping them a tissue or buying them a drink, family is there for one another. We help how we see fit. We love. And we survive.

Happy Life

Is it weird that I just love, love, love being by myself somedays? Jordan is on a "brotime" trip today, and even though I love spending time with him, I have been looking forward to today for a week! It's a great feeling to be able to deep clean without having to clean around someone, rearrange furniture, do laundry.... Wow, I'm a cleaning nerd :S
Anyway, life has been going smoothly. I love my new job, and Jordan's job is going good as well. He still is nerveous about messing up a project (considering some of that shop's projects are $30,000 projects, I would be nervous too!!) but he has been doing great so far!
Hmmmmm. Not much else has been happening! Just day-to-day life. But it's good and we're happy. Short and sweet post for today :)

Busy Life

I knew that this past week/weekend was going to be busy. I just didn't know how busy! On Friday, my new boss (!!!) called and we agreed for me to start Monday afternoon. I also learned that most of my clothes are too formal for their dress code, so that means shopping! :)
Friday also held the baby shower R and I threw for our sister-in-law. It was going to be a "Gender Reveal Couples Shower," and I was really nervous about the whole thing! Fortunately, it turned out to be much more chill than I thought. Which is good. Because I am for too proper for life in party situations. Anyway, the whole thing turned out so cute! We had pink and blue everywhere, along with some pretty good food! My mother-in-law talked to the local Dairy Queen, and they agreed to communicate with the doctors and put either a pink or blue layer in the middle of an ice cream cake for us. When A & E cut the first slice of the cake, a pastel blue layer of ice cream greeted the squealing grandparents and other excited guests. So Jordan and I are welcoming a nephew in December! I am so excited for A & E - they both wanted a boy so badly!
Saturday, we were invited to a birthday party for Jordan's friend. We spent the day fixing Jordan's new dirt bike (well, Jordan fixed it. I watched movies with R) and then went over to the party for supper and hanging out at the lake.
Today, it's just been nice to chill. If you could see us now, you would probably laugh. I have dishes in the sink and dirty laundry in the laundry room, but we are sitting happily on our respective couches watching "Bones" - you know, bonding time and all that :)
